Farmtool for Windows - Farm utilities Software
What does it take to make a good farm utilities package? What questions do you ask
when evaluating a farm utilities program? Here is an example of some questions you might ask:
Does the program keep accurate records of field work done on the farm? Are the field
records easy to enter and is the information easily accessible later on? Do the field records
provide for date of the operation, the description of the field operation, applied rates, and
comments? Does the program make itpossible to enter the same operation on many fields with a
minimum of keystrokes? Does the software keep adequate service records for all implements
on the farm? Do the service records include date of service, the exact job done, the cost and
comments? Is the information readily available later on in the form of a service records
report to include one only, or all implements on the farm? Does the program adequately
track the number of bushels of a commodity in each bin on the farm? Can the inventory in
a particular bin be easily adjusted to take care of errors in judgement made when estimating
the starting inventory? Does it provide summary reports to show the inventory in all storage
places on the farm and do reports provide for a choice of which bins and which commodities

Farmtool Companion for Windows® is a stand-alone Farm Utilities package
designed to do a variety of useful jobs around the farm. The Inventory module would
be used mostly to track grain inventory but it could be used to track inventory
of any kind. The Service Records module is used to keep track of service to farm
machinery. The Field Records module is used to keep track of field operations,
especially chemical applications to any or all fields on the farm. Farmtool Companion
may be run as a stand-alone application or integrated for inventory purposes with
Farmtool for Windows®. Included as well is a Tank Calculator, a Loans Calculator,
a GrainBin Calculator, a Bank Account Reconciliation program and a Seed
